Choosing Your Art
One of the most common questions we get is what exactly are canvas prints, and what are the differences and/or benefits in relation to paper prints.
The short answer is it all depends on your personal tastes and preferences, budget, interior design, and location where the artwork will be displayed. Let’s look at each option, what their strengths and weaknesses are, and why you would select one over the other.
Print on PAPER or CANVAS?
Oil and Acrylic paintings are generally done on canvas by artists, so their prints look best on Canvas. Also, canvas prints do not exhibit any glare and reflection and are longer-lasting than paper.
Photographs and Digital Art are more suitable for printing on paper.
Framed Or Unframed/Rolls
To ensure that your artwork is ready to display when you receive it, framing is advised. A frame adds a formal and decorative accent to your home or office and gets the artwork the attention it deserves.
Below are our framing options
Digital Frame:
Prints on paper are framed with 1” white mat and Frame, and a glass is placed on top to ensure the matte print is secure and ready to hang, we recommend this for a single big frame kept in a nice spacious area. For your reference you can view the option using this link -
Canvas Frame:
while print on canvas, is framed directly without the mat or the glass, this ensures the viewer to feel the painting, the depth and the paint brush strokes. Canvas frames are ideal for well lit rooms since they don’t exhibit any glare or reflection thus, will stand out and can easily become an attraction for the room. Canvas Wrap/ Gallery Wrap:
Besides the before mentioned standard framing, a canvas print can also be stretched and mounted on a sturdy wooden frame (1-1.5” thick) to give you a Gallery-wrapped canvas, a favorite format of many art lovers. This would be our personal favorite, be it small or big this option will give you an aesthetic look for your wall. For your reference you can view the option using this link -
Canvas/Art Print Rolled
If you would like to frame the artwork yourself, choose an unframed version of the artwork, paper or canvas, and it will be sent to you as a roll in a sturdy tube. We will give you an additional 1” for framing, so if you were to order a 18” by 24” print, the final size of the print will be 20”X26”
In the end it all comes down to your taste, preference and need, while customers love the frame less canvas wrap and the flexibility of positioning without the need for specific lighting, and not having to worry about glare or reflections, a beautiful frame is a classic, traditional look that will never go out of style and works well in an appropriate setting and some artworks just look better on matte paper, framed under glass with the white mat. The subject standing apart thus adding a touch of elegance to your formal dining or living room.
